If you want to get a slim stomach and six pack abs, then you need to stop wasting your time on useless crunches and dangerous sit-ups. Instead, you need to focus on 21st Century ab workout exercises to get more results in less time.

Heres an effective four-exercise Pre-Fatigue Abdominal Circuit where you are going to fatigue the abdominals with classic endurance exercises and then follow it up with a dynamic moving exercise.

In the first exercise, start with a simple abdominal plank, holding that position for 45 seconds while bracing your abs, breathing normally, and maintaining your body in a straight line. That will pre-fatigue your abdominals for the second exercise.

Next, you will perform stability ball jackknives for 15 repetitions. At this point in the workout, your abs will be slightly fatigued from the previous exercise, so pay special attention to your form. This is the perfect combination of abdominal exercises to help you strengthen your abs and build the six pack muscles.

(Of course, you also have to do interval training to burn belly fat and find the right diet to help you lose belly fat. I highly recommend you stick to whole, natural foods to lose stomach fat and use short, burst interval training to burn fat in less than 20 minutes, only three times per week.)

The third abdominal exercise in the circuit will fatigue both the obliques and abdominals and is called the side plank. While holding for 30 seconds per side, be sure to maintain your body in a straight line, keeping your hips up, and your chest rotated outwards.

Brace your abs to work them harder than ever. This simple exercise is far more effective than crunches, and works your obliques extra hard. Plus, the side plank pre-fatigues your obliques for the final exercise.

The last abs workout exercise in the circuit is the cross body stability ball mountain climber. To get into position, place your hands on the floor, your feet on the ball, and bring your knee across your body to your opposite elbow. This is a powerful exercise for your six pack abs and obliques.

Once completing the Pre-Fatigue Abdominal Circuit, go through and complete it 2 more times for a total of 3 circuits. Youll be shocked at how hard you can work your abs without situps, crunches, or any of the ab gadgets that are really just a waste of money.

All you need is your bodyweight and an exercise ball to work your abs as hard as any pilates or yoga session, or as hard as any $39.95 infomercial machine.

After finishing the abs exercises circuit, do 5 minutes of fat burning Bodyweight squats, completing as many reps as you can do within that time frame. So, for example, you may choose to do sets of 10, 20, go to failure, or 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off.

It doesn’t really matter, as long as you are focused on form and going at a steady pace. In terms of hand placement, you can put them down at your sides, behind your head, outstretched in front of you, or even below your neck. Record how many reps you are able to do within the 5 minute window and try to improve upon that number each week.

I hope you enjoyed the abs exercises circuit workout and bodyweight interval training program. Both of these workouts will guarantee that youll get a slim tummy, flattened abs, and even a razor sharp set of six pack abdominals.

This is the Turbulence Training intermediate workout program warm-up. This includes 3 bodyweight exercises done in circuit fashion, rest 30 seconds, and then repeat the circuit one more time.

Starting with prisoner squats, place your hands behind your head as though you were being arrested, with your elbows back at all times and your shoulder blades together. Next, have your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart and then squat to parallel and come back up. So, keep your head and chest up and go nice and slow on the way down, and then squeeze your butt and drive up. Perform 12 repetitions.

Now you’ll immediately move on to pushups or kneeling pushups for 8 repetitions. With your body in a straight line and abs braced, bring your chest to the floor, using a strong push on the way up.

The final exercise in the Intermediate warm-up is the stability ball leg curl for 12 repetitions. With your heels on the ball, hips bridged up, curl in with your hamstrings and then back out. Be sure to keep your body in a straight line during this movement.

After you’ve finished all the repetitions for the stability ball leg curl, rest 30 seconds, and then repeat the circuit one more time.

Today I am going to reveal to you the secret to the elusive 10 minute total body workout. A lot of people don’t believe it’s possible to get an incredible workout in only 10 minutes that will help with your fat loss program. But, of course you can and it’s very simple.

Start with a general bodyweight exercise as your warm-up. So, in this example I am going to do a bodyweight squat with hands in front, and pair that with a push up. If you’re a beginner, then you can easily substitute wall squats and kneeling push ups.

Complete two rounds of that superset, performing 10 repetitions for each. Once you have finished the warm-up superset, your body should be ready for the next round of exercises.

The two best exercises to couple together in a 10-minute workout are the dumbbell squat exercise and the dumbbell chest press. When doing the former exercise, obviously you are working your lower body, but you are also
working your upper back by holding those dumbbells in position.

For the first set I want you to pick a weight that is relatively easy. So, choose a weight that you could normally do for 15 repetitions and only do 10. After you finish the 10 reps move on to the chest press and follow the same method.

One of the great things about this dumbbell pairing is that you can usually use the same weight you used for the squat as you use for the chest press, saving you time. After finishing the first round of the superset, increase the weight, so that it is now a very difficult challenge. Now, you will want to complete the set performing 8 repetitions. If 8 reps is still too easy, then add more weight and continue on.

Do as much as you can in 10 minutes and that’s your workout. If you follow the guidelines I have outlined and combine it with a quick warm-up and the proper weights, then you can get a great total body workout in only 10
minutes that will increase your metabolism, burn fat, and build muscle.

Recently I was asked what the top 5 fat burning exercises are for fat loss, and I sort of cheated on the answer. I don’t have 5 exercises, but I do have 5 specific movements that are the best for a fat burning workout.

These movements should be in all total body workouts if you have time.

First is any type of squatting movement. So this can be barbell squats, dumbbell squats, bodyweight squats, single leg squats, and can even be split squats. Further, this should be the first exercise in a total body fat
burning workout.

Try any exercise where there is a bending of the hips, pushing the butt down to parallel or lower to the floor, and come back up nice and strong. My favourite total body fat burning exercise is barbell squats, but if you don’t have equipment, you can use bodyweight squats for bodyweight interval training.

Also, deadlifts are a great squatting movement, but these also fall into the category of a pulling exercise, so you can use this exercise in either category (or cover two categories with just one total body exercise).

Second is a pushing movement. This can be bench press, push press, any type of push up, or a dumbbell press. Ideally, you will want to choose an exercise that is total body. I prefer push-ups or heavy presses because you
get more out of that exercise than what you would get from a cable cross over for the chest for example.

Third is any type of pulling movement. This can be a rowing movement or a vertical pulling movement. Examples of this type of movement include; pull-ups, chin-ups, inverted rows, bodyweight deadlifts, dumbbell rows, seated rows, barbell rows. In this type of movement you are getting a lot of musculature movement.

Fourth is a single leg movement. So, this can be a lunge, split squat, single leg squat, stability ball leg curl, lying 1-leg hip extension, or a Bulgarian split squat.

Fifth is any type of total body abdominal exercise. This can be a hanging leg raise, cable crunch, mountain climbers, spiderman climbs, stability ball jackknife. Basically any abdominal exercise where you are not lying on the ground and curling up two inches.

So those are my BIG FIVE movements. If you only have a limited amount of time and can only get through the first 3 exercises, you’ll still be getting a great workout. As well, these exercises can be done in either a circuit fashion or in straight sets, perfect for a total body workout.

A dumbbell circuit would start with dumbbell squats, then dumbbell chest presses, then rows, then lunges, and then a plank exercise. You obviously don’t need the dumbbell for the plank. You could also do split squats or Bulgarian split squats for the single leg dumbbell exercise.

A sample fat burning bodyweight exercise workout circuit would start with bodyweight squats, followed by pushups, then inverted rows, split squats, and finish off with mountain climbers. Thats a great total body workout without equipment.

Cardio sucks. Bodyweight exercises rule! If you want to sculpt your body, lose fat, build muscle, and get fit, forget the cardio and do this short bodyweight workout instead. Its a real workout.

This is a very unique program, but probably one of the toughest ones I’ve put together. However, please make sure you do this after a warmup of bodyweight squats, pushups, and lunges. Youll do this after your resistance training in any fat burning workout.

So, here is the order of exercises for the bodyweight intervals from workout A. You will start with jumps, and then move into calf jumps, followed by stability ball jackknives, and then Turkish get-ups to finish off the circuit.

For the jumps, you are going to do 10 regular squat jumps, rest 10 seconds, repeating 3 more times for a total of four sets of 10. As you are coming down, try to have a nice soft landing and absorb the contact with the floor and then right back up into the jump.

Once you’ve done the jumps, you are going to move on to the calf jumps. Again, four sets of 10, with a 10 second rest in between. To do this set of pogo calf jumps, as you land you will be bouncing up using the balls of your feet, and pointing your toes in the air every time.

After completing the first two exercises from the bodyweight intervals, you’ll move on to the stability ball jackknives. Following the same structure as the previous two exercises, you will perform 4 sets of 10 reps, with a 10 second rest in between.

For this exercise, you can do it with either your hands on the floor or elbows on the bench. With your feet on the stability ball, bring your knees to your chest, keeping your back flat and then back out. If you want a little extra burn, however, you can ‘rest’ in the plank position.

For the Turkish Get-ups, you are going to do 5 repetitions per side, rest 10 seconds, and then perform one more set, for a total of 2 sets. In order to perform this exercise you will use either a dumbbell or a kettlebell and start by lying on the ground.

Now, with your arm extended up in the air, and the leg on the same side bent at 90 degrees, get up to a standing position. Once you are standing straight up, proceed to lie back down while keeping the DB or KB extended up in the air. Complete 5 repetitions per side and then switch.

This is a very difficult, advanced bodyweight interval training workout. Be sure to do this workout not on pavement or concrete, but instead on a relatively soft surface. Ideally, this workout would be done out on the grass.

However, if you aren’t comfortable doing some of these exercises because you are worried about the impact or your technique, then you can easily substitute lower impact bodyweight exercises such as; squats or jumping jacks.

Train hard, but train safe. And have fun with this bodyweight interval training workout for fat loss. This program takes less time than long, slow, boring, ineffective cardio and youll get more results from bodyweight exercises.
